Q: What is a typical day at VBS like?

A: This year we are doing something a little different.  Church of the Highlands is all about family and that is why we are inviting the whole family to join us for the production at the beginning of every night.  After the exciting Bible story is presented the kids will go to their small groups and activity stations. During which, on the last three nights, parents will receive a separate (optional) schedule to follow which will include things like an encouraged date night, parenting seminar, and participation in parenting discussions with coffee and dessert.

Q: What are the activity stations this year?

A: This will be the most action packed VBS experience ever! This year, our activity stations will be HORSE RIDING, SWIMMING IN OUR OLYMPIC SIZE POOL, and TONS OF INFLATABLE FUN!

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Church of the Highlands is passionate about serving our community and building relationships in hopes to share the love of Christ with anyone and everyone! That is why we offer VBS for free!

Q: How do I register my child?

A: Just go to TheHighlands.cc/VBS and click on the link to register for VBS!

Q: Where do I drop off and pick up my child?

A: Each night our parking team will greet you and direct you where to park or drop off your child.

Q: What ages does VBS serve?

A: All ages are welcome to attend during the production. After the production, kids who have completed K-5 will continue to their scheduled activities.

Q:  Is there a nursery for younger children?

A:  Unfortunately, due to space and personnel constraints, we cannot offer VBS to those who have not yet completed kindergarten.  The nursery is limited to the children of volunteers. However, on the second, third, and fourth nights of VBS, we want to give parents an opportunity to participate in activities that will help them become better parents (agenda TBA).  For those nights only, we will provide child care for all ages.

Q: Are the Adult leaders background checked?

A: Yes, Safety is our number one priority for everyone attending VBS. All leaders participating in VBS are background checked.

Q: What happens if I have to pick up my child early from VBS?

A: Upon your initial registration you will receive an ID card with a unique ID issued to you.  This card will allow us to safely check-in and check-out your child during the week of VBS.  Just present your ID card to our check-in team and they will assist you in locating and checking out your child.

Q: How does my child find out which team he/she is on?

A: Prior to the week of VBS, your child will get a postcard in the mail from his or her small group leader. When you drop off your child on Monday morning, we will assist your child in locating their team area.

Q:  Are there alternate snacks if my child has food allergies?

A:  If your child cannot eat one of the snacks due to allergies, we will have an alternative or we can serve a snack you have packed specifically for him or her.
